Student Ministries
Helping Teens See Christ as the Answer

Revolution
A sudden, radical, drastic, or complete change...
a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something;
a change of paradigm.

The Student Ministries at AMBC is calling 7th through 12th grade students to join the Revolution! This revolution is one in which our minds and actions are transformed…in which our lives are more entirely conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. To this end, we offer a wide variety of opportunities for relationship building, worship, spiritual growth, service, evangelism, study, and just plain fun. The ministry programs described below are designed so that each program offers something different to the teenager who is involved. Therefore, the more you participate, the more well-rounded you will become.

Revolution Training
Sunday Morning
9:00 - 9:50 a.m.
Our Junior and Senior High Sunday School meets in the youth room (Lower Level 4). This class seeks to communicate Biblical principles using stories and accounts from scripture, object lessons, and character studies. Past topics have included Old Testament history, studies of the minor prophets, the doctrine of salvation, prophecy, Jesus the “Radical,” the life of David, the letter to the Romans, I & II Peter, the Exodus, ministry in a post-modern world, etc...

Revolution
Wednesday Night
6:15 - 8:30 p.m.
Our Junior/Senior High Youth Group is called Revolution and meets in the youth room (Lower Level 4). It’s a time of fun and relationship building including dumb games, strange (but fun) activities, food (sometimes), music, worship, and all kinds of other stuff. Discussions are topical and deal with things that teenagers face on a regular basis. In the past, they have included dating relationships, racism, music, gangs, family relationships, creation/evolution, peer pressure, cults, depression, stress, evangelism, friendship, witchcraft, eating disorders, fear, etc...

The goal is to impact and transform young lives as we provide a non-threatening environment in which to share God’s perspective and Biblical truth.

On the third Wednesday night of each month, we break into separate girls and guys groups for the entire youth group time, coming back together at the end for prayer. In this format, our dedicaed group of adult leaders is able to minister more effectively and meet some of the unique needs of teen girls or teen guys. This forum allows the girls or guys to open up and talk about things they might not address in the combined group.

Throughout the year, we also host “girls-only” or “guys-only” events such as retreats, bonfires, video gaming nights, movie nights, banquets, etc...

Special Events
Monthly
We try to average one special event each month. These are usually fun and fellowship oriented times and the young people are encouraged to bring friends. Special events include: Cedar Point trip, water part trip, paintball, concerts, college tours, lock-ins, and much more.

Mission Trips
Summer Months
Each summer we give students an opportunity to put their faith into action and participate in at least one missions trip. Recently, we have included trips to inner-city Pittsburgh, Nashville, and even Belize and Matamoros, Mexico. Sometimes we stay right here in Akron. Teens, being missionaries, are required to raise their own support to participate. It is always a valuable experience for all who are a part. In addition, teens are encouraged to take advantage of the many individual summer missions opportunities that are available each year.

Summer Camp
Summer Months
We partner with Camp Koinonia each summer to provide an opportunity for the students and their friends to escape normal life for a week of growth at camp. Usually happening the first two weeks of July, Junior and Senior High camps are always terrific weeks filled with spiritual renewal and challenge, relationship-building, and fun.Church_Map.htmlChurch_Map.htmlChurch_Map.htmlChurch_Map.htmlhttp://www.christiancampohio.org/shapeimage_4_link_0shapeimage_4_link_1shapeimage_4_link_2shapeimage_4_link_3shapeimage_4_link_4
